DECLARE CHRIST'S VICTORY

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God. He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

You can be thankful because Jesus has given you the victory over everything that comes against you.

Some of those things might be deep-rooted in your life and cannot be easily uprooted like a little weed – these things need a back-hoe to uproot them. But it doesn’t matter whether they are a weed or some deep-rooted issue – you have the victory in Christ Jesus!

God’s Word can cut out of you any deep-rooted thing in your life (Hebrews 4:12) and is powerful for the pulling down of strongholds and any limitations of the mind. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

Romans 5:17 says, “we are to reign in life as kings in Christ Jesus”. When God looks at you He doesn’t see you as defeated and barely getting by – He sees you as a king. He sees you in Christ Jesus and whatever belongs to His Son Christ, also belongs to you.

To “reign” means ‘time in power’. God said we are to “reign in life” and this means as long as you are alive, that is your time in power. It is not for two years like a mayor or four years like a President – it’s for life!

But what do you do when you don’t feel like you are reigning or victorious? Well, the life of faith has nothing to do with your feelings, but everything to do with what God’s Word says about you.

There comes a time in your life when you have to stop allowing your feelings to be your truth and robbing you in life and start allowing the Word of God to become your truth and reigning in you!

I recall God provided me with a position in the marketplace that in my eyes seemed so far above my capabilities and level of experience. I had two options; drown or fake it until I made it.

I decided to walk into that job every day and start acting like I belonged in that job; I stayed back longer to learn what I didn't know and for a season I went in on Saturdays. I began to declare the things that God says in His Word over my life. Yes, I still carried feelings of inferiority and insecurity. But I had to ignore those feelings and often that was daily. Well, after a season, I started excelling in that job! My reality caught up with God’s view of me.

It's the same with reigning in Christ. You might not feel like a winner, or victorious or an overcomer in Christ, but if you do what I did, start walking into every day as though you are. If you start declaring what God says about you in His Word, something very powerful will begin to change deep down within you – you start to believe it!

That’s when you begin to see change happening in your life. It’s not too long before you are radically transformed in the way you see yourself and feel. You haven’t changed yourself – the Word of God has become rooted in your heart and it is now springing forth into your life (Proverbs 4:23).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

I declare I will live in victory today because I reign in life in Christ Jesus.
