Genesis 18:14 “Sarah, is there anything too hard for the Lord”?
We are not called nor created to live this life self-dependent. I know the world promotes this as a value but as God’s creation, we are called to live a life dependent upon Him and that involves being conscious of His grace which is His favor.
His supernatural favor comes in the form of opportunities, healing, restoration, and blessing and exists for you on a day by day basis. There is nothing in your life today, that is too hard for God.
This is what the Lord is saying to Sarah in Genesis 18:14. She was well past child-bearing age and God promised her a child. At first, she laughed it off, almost dismissing it as too hard to believe until the Lord responded with a rebuke. And the Lord is also saying the same to us, “Is there anything too hard for me?”
What many people do is air their own personal excuse”as to why their situation might be an exception. Or perhaps their theology is getting in the way of their faith. Like Sarah, we have to put aside our defenses and our doctrines and simply believe God at His Word.
Get a new vision of God – not based on who you think He is but who He says He is.
God is saying to you that He is an all-powerful God that can turn around any situation. It doesn’t matter what it looks like in the natural. God is supernatural and can work exceedingly and abundantly in your life.
God was saying to Sarah “If you will take the limits off Me, I’ll amaze you and surprise you with my goodness. I will not only meet your needs, I will exceed your expectations”.
This was the case when Peter and John were entering the temple gates on the way to prayer. A poor lame man was begging for money and had his arms outstretched. Peter says “look at me” and it says the man gave them his attention expecting something from them. (Acts 3:4-5)
Well, what happened next was more than what the beggar was expecting. He thought he’d get a little loose change that would see him through the day. But what he got was the healing power of God flowing through his legs that would get him through life!
And when you also give God your attention, He will exceed your expectation.
Hebrews 8:10 says, “I will be your God and you will be my people”. Let God be your miracle-working God today by being a person that believes Him at His word!
