FAITH - GOD ACTS ON HIS WORD

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my Word be that goes forth out of My mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

You must understand that the Word of God that comes from your mouth and a believing heart, carries the same power as when God speaks! In Numbers 23:19 it declares that He watches over His Word to perform it!

Some Christians struggle with this. But it’s only because they do not understand three important things:

  1. That they are created in the image and likeness of God.

  2. That they are joint-heirs with Christ.

  3. Christ has given them His righteousness and power.

Jesus' life on earth and all He did is a model of what we can do once we are in Christ and filled with His Spirit. He said we shall actually do greater works than He did.

John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father”.

When the storm broke out over the lake and his disciples in the boat began to cry out in fear, Jesus didn’t say to His disciples “This storm will teach you how to overcome fear”. No, He took authority over that storm and said: “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39). Jesus knew that God’s Word that came forth from His mouth would not return to Him void, but it would accomplish and prosper in the thing for which it was sent.

When Jesus came across the widow whose only son had died, He didn’t tell her God wanted to take him home, He said to the boy’s body, “Young man, I say to you, arise” (Luke 7:14). On another occasion, Jesus stood outside the tomb of a dead man and declared “Lazarus, come forth!” (John 11:43). In both instances, these dead bodies came back to life.

God watches over His Word to perform it.

The more you see God’s Word as the Word of His Power and understand that Jesus has given you all power (Luke 10:19, Acts 1:8), that’s when you will begin to have faith in God’s Word. That’s when you will see God’s Word performing what it has been sent to accomplish.

Don’t have an attitude that says, “Okay, let me try this and see what happens”. I can tell you now, nothing will happen. What you must do is start developing and growing your faith in God’s Word. The same way a person develops an education, or develops skill in a sport or instrument, through a commitment to training everyday… as you consistently commit to reading and trusting in God’s Word every day, over time – months and years, you will grow stronger in faith and your capacity to believe for things will grow!

Start trusting God for small things and remain consistent. It is through consistently committing to the things of God that you will see God’s Word accomplishing great things!

So find out what God’s Word says about you and your situation. Believe it and declare it. And because God’s Word does not return unto Him void, you will see what you believe and declare, coming to pass!
