Church, what a Resurrection Sunday! This weekend, we weren’t just celebrating an event—we were beholding the Gospel that changed everything. From Genesis to the Gospels, Pastor Wayne walked us through the Word, showing how God’s plan of salvation was never an afterthought. It was written into the story of humanity from the very beginning.
God came to save man from death—and there are three parts to this salvation:
✝️ God gives us the opportunity—through our choosing—to be born again in the Spirit.
✝️ God gives us Jesus, our perfect sin offering.
✝️ He frees us from having to be justified through our own works.
Let’s reflect on five key revelations from this life-giving message:
1. The Gospel Is Power—Not Just Words
Romans 1:16 calls the Gospel “the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” That word salvation (soteria) includes rescue, health, peace, and wholeness. Pastor Wayne reminded us: the Zoe life of God is already flowing in you through Jesus' resurrection. It's a life that delivers from addiction, sickness, condemnation, and fear.
2. The Gospel Is Hidden in the Old Testament—And It All Points to Jesus
From the Garden of Eden to the blood on the doorposts in Exodus, the Gospel has always been there—waiting to be revealed. The lamb that caused death to pass over? A picture of Jesus. The cross isn’t man’s idea. It’s God’s love story written in blood, long before Calvary.
3. Jesus Is the Perfect Sin Offering
In Leviticus 4, we see the sinner bringing a lamb. The priest doesn’t examine the person—he examines the lamb. That’s grace. Jesus, the Lamb of God, was examined and found perfect. At the cross, He took our sin and gave us His righteousness. That’s not something we earn. It’s something we receive.
4. The Resurrection Confirms You Are Righteous
Romans 4:25 says Jesus was “raised up because of our being declared righteous” (YLT). The resurrection is proof that the work is finished. You don’t need to justify yourself. God has already declared you righteous—by faith, not by works.
5. Righteousness by Faith Sets You Free
The cross not only forgave your sins—it removed your guilt. Pastor Wayne shared how guilt and condemnation weigh people down, often without them realising it. But when you see yourself as righteous in Christ, you stop punishing yourself for your past. You start walking in freedom, peace, and joy.
Final Reflection
The tomb is empty—and so is your record of debt. Your guilt was nailed to the cross. The resurrection is the receipt that says: paid in full. You are forgiven. You are righteous. And you are deeply, eternally loved.
Jesus is alive—and He lives in you. Let that truth shape your every day.
