GIFT OF NO CONDEMNATION

John 8:10-11 When Jesus stood up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord”. And Jesus said to her “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more”.

Jesus' gift of “no condemnation” is the power in your life to sin no more.

In a correctional institution, the facility’s chaplain started sharing the goodness of God’s grace and His gift of no condemnation to the female prisoners. Over a period of time, she began to witness many transformations in the lives of those female prisoners. Listen to one of the testimonies in that facility:

“God is using this revelation of His grace to heal the broken-hearted and set the captives free. Physical healings are taking place. Wrong mindsets are being changed. The women are experiencing freedom from their addictions and their hurting lives are being transformed!”

This is what truly begins to take place in a person’s life when they receive a revelation of God’s abundant grace and the gift of His righteousness.

We see this in today’s scripture which captures the story of the woman who was caught in the act of adultery. Only she (not the man) is brought to the temple to be condemned to death by stoning under the law. Most likely she was a prostitute who had been framed by the religious leaders with the intention of testing and then framing Jesus against Moses' Law.

But Jesus out-wits them and says “he who is without sin, throw the first stone”. One by one from oldest to youngest the men began to leave.

Now what is enlightening in this story is the root issue that Jesus deals with to truly set her free.

Jesus gives her the gift of ‘no condemnation’ before He told her “to go and sin no more”. However, conventional Christianity mistakenly reverses this and says “Go and sin no more and then there will be no condemnation”. It’s proclaiming that no condemnation is a fruit or the by-product of your behavior.

But just like righteousness is not the fruit of your behavior, but your new identity, a gift you have received from Christ, “no condemnation” is also a gift that you receive from Christ.

Romans 8:1: Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. No condemnation is not the by-product of your behavior, it's the identity you possess in Christ.

John 3:17: “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him”.

The gift of no condemnation does not come through your ability to sin no more, it comes through the gift of righteousness, received by grace.

The more you grow in your revelation that you are righteous through the blood of Jesus, the more power you carry to overcome condemnation and sin no more!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

The gift of ‘no condemnation’ does not come through your ability to ‘sin no more’, it comes through Jesus' gift of righteousness.
