PRAY - BELIEVE YOU HAVE IT
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Jesus tells us that we can have whatever we ask for in prayer by simply “believing” that you have received the answer when you pray. Believing in your heart is the key.
It’s not a New Age type of believing which is believing in some unknown force that exists within you and all you have to do is connect with it. As a Christian, our believing is only in One Person, Jesus Christ. That’s who and where you focus your believing – away from yourself and toward Jesus.
Ephesians 1:3 we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus.
“Every spiritual blessing” can be more clearly understood through “Salvation”. The Greek word for Salvation is “Soteria” (noun) or “Sozo” (verb).
It means:
Deliverance from sickness, disease, condemnation, shame, and death
Provision of righteousness, healing, wellbeing, prosperity, forgiveness, eternal life
Ephesians 1:3 says you already have been blessed in Christ Jesus. It is past tense. That’s why Mark 11:24 says believe that you have received it (past tense again). You do not believe that you have received it when you see the physical answer. You see in your heart by faith that you have received it, even before you see the physical manifestation.
So how do I activate this promise in my life? Mark 11:24 says: I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
The first principle is to believe it in the heart. You see it by faith in the imagination of your heart. If you start trying to confess things with your mouth, but you do not see it in your heart – you will be disappointed. You must see it first in your heart.
Then you activate the second principle – declare it with your mouth.
The mistake many Believers make is that they hear a message about confessing or declaring with their mouths, so they start declaring all sorts of things… but they are not yet seeing it in their hearts. This leads to empty prayers and disappointment.
God established a picture of faith in Abram well before He changed his name to Abraham. The Lord gave him a picture of the sand on the ground – so shall your descendants be. Then a picture of the stars in the night sky – so shall your descendants be. This was 15 years before God changed his name to Abraham – “father of many nations” which represents a new confession of his mouth.
If you are not seeing your prayers answered – change what you are seeing in your heart. Start seeing the answer – let it become rooted deep within your heart, then start declaring it!
